Intro to Blogs

Welcome to my new blog. And yes, the name is a mouthful. My apologies.

I've known about Blogs for some time now (at least 2-3 years), however I must say how impressed I am with the way different libraries and information services have been using it.
Aside from using it as a news service, updating patrons on events, exhibits and collections in the library, it provides an excellent way to deliver and store local history information and facts. The example of Sthn Tablelands Regional libraries is an excellent one. Check it out at : http://strlhistorymatters.blogspot.com/

I'm also interested in some of the comments made by other course participants, that Wordpress is a better Blog tool. I shall have to investigate this one.

Some of you may be wondering what connection the photo on this posting means and what it has to do with blogs.
Well, I must say nothing at all.

Till next post...

  2. Thanks Zaplog,
Yes, we're familiar with Elliott Wave forecasting and agree it's often accurate ... but we don't think it makes enough allowances for "wild card" events, which happen with increasing frequency these days. By definition these can't be accurately predicted but we believe it's possible to have emergency wild card plans in place as hedges, as it were.

Yes, gold could tumble, and we agree it will soar again; but there is good reason to think, given all the wars, econo-chaos and all the rest that's going on, that events will negate the E-wave and it doesn't tumble after all, or anyway not much and not for long. So if we were playing gold, we'd bear that in mind
